This great synth-pop track was not what I was expecting from Steven Wilson. I need to check out more of his music.
Nightmares On Wax – Boiler Room London Set
When Jurie recently dropped an excellent Boiler Room Set I got reminded of one of my all time favorites. It’s basically the best “Black Music” mix I know and there’s hardly a party where I don’t start with this.
You Know, You Know – Jeff Beck
I’m a huge fan of Mahavishnu Orchestra and John McLaughlin. I never listened to Jeff Beck. And then I came across this. I think it’s… better than the original?
A Forest – Alunah
This is a great cover of one of my favorite The Cure songs by pagan doom rockers Alunah.
My Moon My Man (Boys Noize Classic Mix) – Feist
I’m a huge fan of Feist’s first two albums and then somehow stopped listening to anything she did after that. Ironic since I now live in Canada and she gives concerts here.
This is a kick ass remix of one of the tracks off her second album.
When My Train Pulls In – Gary Clarke Jr.
Lovely guitar solo.
Bad Queen vs Oam & Kieng
To be honest, I don’t watch this for the music. I watch it to see two nice young men being mercilessly crushed in a break dance battle. The contrast between the first dancer and Bad Queen’s synchronized entrance makes me laugh every time, and then Ibuki finishes by doing some things that look impossible or are just exquisitely timed to the music. Despite the crushing it looks like everyone is having a good time.
If you’re into this kind of thing, I definitely recommend looking for more Ibuki videos.
Boiler Room DJ Set – Sama’
This DJ set by Sama’ made me fall in love with techno music again. Amazing tracks, amazing song progression. Play it loud and/or through headphones.
If you want listen to it without ads, but also without the lovely crowd, here it is on SoundCloud.
Another Brick In The Wall – Artsonic
I got this track 15 years ago from Erik, as an untitled MP3. It took me a very long time to find out it is by the French band Artsonic. Absolutely kick-ass cover.
Out Of The Black – Royal Blood
Two! Guys! One of the best live performances I’ve ever seen. Also check out the videos of people trying to replicate the bassist’s crazy rig.
